The fall of the Berlin Wall

It has been twenty years since the Berlin Wall was torn down, and communism was exposed as brutal, corrupt, repressive, and evil. There are probably a lot of people on this website who are too young to remember what life was like when the Berlin Wall was up. Many poeple lost their lives for the "crime" of wanting to be free from tyranny.

It is important that we remember the past, so that we may never allow this mistake to be made again.

Here we are on the Slovar server and Slovakia was a part of Czechoslovakia till the end of 1992. And we in Czechoslovakia lived under communist regime till 1989. So I think most people here know well what communism was and in some parts of the world still is (North Korea for example). It was particularly thank to president Ronald Reagan and PM Margaret Thatcher that communism fell. Good old conservative thinking and relying on physical power has proved to be the most effective and pragmatic, depite all those politically correct social leftist intellectual constructs.

Yes, especially as the "GermanDemocraticRepublic" gets glorified and reduced to some aspects and cult objects. As long as people have bent down, life was easier - but it has never been cool and homeley as people trying to make us believe.

By being 25 of age, I grew up knowing there is a strange foreign Germany which is kinda different, even if its still Germany. I've seen it in '89 and it seemed really, really weird to me.

Luckily things happened as they did and I was able to get to know my girl. -
So we are a small allusion to a united Germany.
    Im glad about that!
